Last updated 2026-10-23 · Version 2026-10-23.1

Effective date: 23 October 2026 Provider: Kanabe Aron Persoană Fizică Autorizată ("we", "us", "our") Address: 692, Sânsimion, Harghita 537285, Romania Tax identification code (CIF): 42879844 Trade Register No.: F19/359/2020 VAT identification number: RO42972799 Email: [email protected] Service: codingchallenge.dev (the "Service")

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms incorporate by reference:

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the equivalent age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. We do not knowingly provide the Service to anyone under 18.
  • You must provide accurate and complete account information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for your account and for all activity under it, including keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorized use.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is a breach of these Terms and of the Acceptable Use Policy.

3. The Service

The Service lets you upload source code as submissions for coding challenges. The platform builds, executes, and evaluates your submissions in an automated, sandboxed environment on our infrastructure and returns results.

The Service is offered in a free tier and a paid tier, with monthly submission limits and features as described in the application at the time of purchase.

We also publish an optional command-line tool that runs on your own computer. It carries risks that do not apply to the website, including the ability to modify and delete files on your machine. Those risks and the terms governing that tool are set out in the CLI Runner Terms and Risk Disclosure, which you must read and accept before installing it.

4. Your content and licence

  • You retain ownership of the source code and other content you submit ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, build, execute, run, analyze, evaluate, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — for example, to compile and test your submission and show you the results. We do not use Your Content to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell it. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for residual copies pending routine deletion.
  • You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe any third party's rights or any law.

5. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

In summary, and without limiting that policy: you must not upload or run malicious code; mine cryptocurrency or otherwise abuse compute resources; attempt to escape, probe, or interfere with the execution sandbox; access or attack other users' data or our infrastructure; conduct security testing without our prior written permission; upload illegal or infringing content; or circumvent usage limits. The full list is in the Acceptable Use Policy and is illustrative, not exhaustive.

To report a security vulnerability, email [email protected]. Do not exploit or test it beyond what is necessary to report it, and do not access other users' data.

6. Enforcement, suspension, and termination

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend, restrict, terminate, and immediately delete your account and all associated data if we determine or reasonably suspect that you have engaged in any prohibited activity, fraud, or conduct that poses a security or operational risk.

This applies to free and paid accounts alike, and termination for these reasons is without refund. These remedies are in addition to any other rights or remedies available to us, including reporting unlawful activity to the authorities.

Where the circumstances allow it and the risk is low, we will generally warn you or restrict your quota before terminating — but we are not obliged to, and serious or deliberate breaches may result in immediate deletion.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Full terms are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy. In summary:

  • Pricing is as displayed in the application at the time of purchase. Prices are shown including VAT where VAT applies, so the price you see is the price you pay, and the total payable is shown again before you confirm the payment.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details; your payment information is handled by Stripe under their terms and privacy notice.
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically for successive monthly periods until cancelled. You can cancel at any time — through the customer portal linked from your subscription page, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid access until then. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
  • Right of withdrawal and refunds are covered in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
  • The paid tier is provided on the same best-effort basis as the rest of the Service (Section 8). Payment does not create any uptime, availability, or data-retention guarantee.
  • The paid plan is available to consumers and to business customers. A business customer established in another EU member state may enter a valid VAT identification number at checkout, in which case the supply is reverse-charged and VAT is not charged.
  • The consumer protections in these Terms and in the Refund and Cancellation Policy — including the 14-day right of withdrawal — apply to consumers only. If you are buying in the course of a trade, business, craft or profession, they do not apply to you.

8. Availability — best effort, no guarantees

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no guarantee of uptime, availability, or service levels. Maintenance, interruptions, outages, errors, and changes may occur at any time without notice.

We do not guarantee that any feature, challenge, submission, result, or other data will remain available in the future. Data may be modified, deleted, or wiped — including for all users — at any time, and we are not liable for any resulting loss.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of any code or content you wish to retain. Do not treat the Service as a backup, an archive, or a system of record. Our routine data-deletion schedule — including that submission files and logs are deleted roughly 30 days after a submission completes — is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Your responsibility for content

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for the consequences of submitting and running it. You must have all necessary rights to upload and execute the code you submit, and you are responsible for ensuring your submissions comply with these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the law.

10. Intellectual property

The Service — including the platform, challenges, test cases, software, text, design, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. Challenge descriptions and test cases are provided for your personal use in completing challenges; do not republish or redistribute them.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that results — including build outputs, test results, scoring, or evaluation of code correctness — will be accurate or reliable. Automated evaluation can and does produce incorrect results.

We make no guarantee of any learning outcome, skill assessment, certification, or employment opportunity.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you actually paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim (which is zero for free-tier users).
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Mandatory consumer-protection rights are unaffected.

If you are a consumer, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by the consumer-protection law of your country of residence.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This section does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own breach or negligence, and does not limit your mandatory consumer rights.

14. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including features, challenges, and pricing — at any time.

We may also update these Terms. We will update the effective date and version at the top of this page. For material changes, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email to the address on your account and by a notice in the application, normally at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before it takes effect. Your continued use after that point constitutes acceptance.

A price increase will never apply to a billing period you have already paid for.

15. Termination by you

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon deletion, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy — your account is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after a short grace period.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licences for residual copies, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — survive.

16. Governing law, disputes, and complaints

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Romania.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Nothing here deprives you of those rights.

Complaints. Please contact us first at [email protected] — we aim to respond within 14 days and to resolve complaints directly.

Alternative dispute resolution. If we cannot resolve your complaint, consumers may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body. In Romania, the competent authority is the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) — anpc.ro — including its SAL (alternative dispute resolution) directorate. We are not obliged to participate in ADR proceedings and will confirm our position on any specific request.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the policies incorporated in Section 1, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • Language: these Terms are provided in English, which is the governing language.
